Die Chronik des VDMA beleuchtet die letzten 125 Jahre aus Sicht des Verbands und mit Blick auf die Welt des Maschinenbaus.

  • Während 1896 die Beschäftigtenzahl bei 147.000 Personen lag, arbeiten heute 1 Millionen Menschen im deutschen Maschinen- und Anlagenbau.
  • Die Exportquote stieg von 19% im Jahr 1907 auf 64 Prozent im Jahr 2013.
  • 1967 wird der heutige Haupsitz des VDMA in Frankfurt bezogen.
  • Das erste Auslandsbüro des VDMA wird 1983 in Japan eröffnet.
