A profile roller (vertical) is a type of tool used in metalworking to stamp a specific profile on a metal plate or other workpiece. The roller consists of a cylindrical body with a series of V-shaped grooves or profiles engraved in the surface of the roller. To profile the workpiece, it is usually clamped between two rollers, with the profiling roller pressed against the workpiece to create the desired profile. The vertical aspect of the profiling roll refers to the roll being positioned vertically with respect to the workpiece, meaning that the workpiece is typically held upright or vertical as it passes through the roll. Profile rolls are commonly used in the fabrication of metal siding, window frames, doors and other components to create an attractive and structurally stable surface.
