Horizontal bending presses are machines specially designed for bending metal profiles, tubes or bars. Unlike vertical bending presses, where the workpiece is held vertically, horizontal bending presses position the workpiece flat on the table while the bending tool is pressed onto the workpiece. Horizontal bending presses consist of a sturdy frame, a hydraulic system and a bending device mounted on the machine. The bending device consists of a die and punch specifically designed to meet the bending requirements of the workpiece. The bending device is driven by a hydraulic pump or electric motor, which feeds hydraulic oil through valves into the hydraulic cylinder to press the punch onto the workpiece. Depending on the type of bending device, horizontal bending presses can produce simple or complex bends. Horizontal bending presses are used in the automotive, aerospace, and engineering industries to form tubes, profiles, or bars into a specific shape. The machine offers precise control, high speed and repeatability to achieve accurate and high quality bending results.
