New universal milling machine ECOMILL S
A major innovation in the new design lies in the optimal position of the operator, who can control the machining process from a remarkably privileged point.
Another advantage of the new structure is that it takes up about 20% less space, both in floor plan and height. This is due to the new specially conceived design, which allows the positioning of accessories on the mobile structure, thus avoiding taking up valuable workshop space.
The machine is equipped with two spindle motors: a standard motor with 60 kW and 330 Nm and a more powerful motor with 60 kW / 900 Nm in S1. Several mechanical milling heads developed and manufactured by Emco Mecof are available: the proven universal head, the offset head and the orthogonal milling head, which allows an undercut of 45°.
The ECOMILL S can be equipped with a floor plate and rotary table for milling or turning, as well as with various accessories for automating the machining process: automatic tool changer, tool control and measurement, chip conveyor, pendulum machining, high-pressure internal cooling through the spindle, paper belt filter, and much more.
The performance of the ECOMILL S is well supported by the latest control unit by Heidenhain TNC 7 and Siemens SINUMERIK ONE. The model presented at EMO Hannover 2023 is equipped with the Heidenhain TNC 7. The major advantages are immediately visible when looking at the user interface: The operator interface has been completely redesigned, making it more intuitive and customisable. In addition, the 24-inch screen offers enough space to select the information displayed without having to switch screens in search of what you want.
In addition to the well-known features of the options provided by EMCO MECOF, it is important not to forget the existing prerequisites for Industry 4.0, which allow the possibility of remote connection to the machine for real-time diagnostics and, thanks to the IOLink equipment, for efficient remote adjustment.
The new ECOMILL S highlights the expertise and ability of EMCO MECOF's technical team to find cutting-edge solutions that meet market requirements while offering a competitive price/performance ratio. Thanks to the features described, the ECOMILL S consolidates EMCO MECOF's tradition in meeting the requirements of general machine building when machining smaller workpieces.
