Facing Head - FH series

Precisely thinking of customers’ requirements, O.M.G. has ideated the new facing heads of the FH series, fully in-house studied and manufactured, to be installed on NC machine tools. Prearranged for the U controlled axis, they allow executing high- precision machining such as outer and inner facing, back facing, boring, cylindrical and conical threading and any interpolation with the machine tool axes, as they can be installed both manually and automatically on any machining centre, more frequently on boring machines, vertical lathes or special machines. Produced in three different sizes, FH540, FH640 and FH800 (with the figure indicating the size of the stator part), heads offer reduced ratio 4:1 for application also on machine tools with low spindle power, granting an absolute precision level; moreover, for each of the three sizes, it is possible to have three different plates of the rotating part, depending on end-users’ requirements. However, what really distinguishes the product from competitors is the slide drive system, directly mounted on the rotating part instead of on the fixed one; combined with the possibility of mounting a direct position-reading system, it allows utmost precision in the stock removal phase. Besides, the FH series can be provided with a hydraulic slide clamping system to achieve maximum precision and stiffness during heavy-duty operations, the automatic greasing of inner kinematics and of bearings, the automated-change axial and radial tool holder, still on the slide, with prearrangement for the Coromant Cutting Tools by Sandvik, and the automatic balancing.
